People dating several people
Do you think it is absolutely necessary for people to date more than one person or do you believe that a couple can fall in love with each other on the first date? My daughter is dating a man who is 17 years older than her. They have been dating for almost two months now. Before meeting this man the only other boyfriend she had had was a young man in the 9th grade that she went steady with. That did not work out. She went to her senior prom with a man from our church and she knew when she went with him they were going strictly as friends. My reason for asking this question is my mother-in-law feels that my daughter doesn't know what love is. She feels that my daughter ought to date other people because she says "she doesn't have anyone to compare this man to". I totally disagree with my mother-in-law. My daughter is 21 years old and she knows what she feels in her heart. This man feels the same way about her. My mother-in-law doesn't even want my daughter to talk to her about this man and she has made it clear that she has no interest in even meeting him. I feel for my daughter because she is very hurt by her granny's actions. I'm afraid my mother-in-law is going to isolate herself from my daughter if she doesn't change the way she is acting. |
